The first time he encountered a Kaibutsu was at an elementary school he was visiting as a trainee. An older brother figure by nature with a strong desire to protect anyone younger than him, he realized at that moment how he desired to protect the very world his students lived in. Filled with this resolve, he became the hero known as the “Ele-Mentor.” He uses grade school lesson props such as balls, vaulting boxes, triangles, and so forth to turn battles against Kaibutsu into teaching moments about why one ought not to do bad things, all while he protects them.
彼が初めてカイブツと対峙したのは、教育実習で訪れた小学校であった。持ち前の兄貴肌と年下への庇護欲が彼に「生徒たちの住む世界を護りたい」という決意を芽生えさせ、ヒーロー「エレメント・ティーチャー」を誕生させた。小学校の授業で扱うボールや跳び箱、黒板用の三角定規などを模した武器を扱い、「何故悪い事をしてはいけないのか」を生徒たちに示しながら、彼は今日も戦場に立つ。

Kyoichi keeps it a secret from his students that he is the friendly neighborhood “Ele-Mentor.” First and foremost, he does not wish to expose them to danger from villains who might come after him. Secondly, he is not a hero to simply show off or pad his resume. Whenever he sees kids pretending to be Ele-Mentor on the playground, all he does is quietly smile.
自身が街を守るヒーロー「エレメント・ティーチャー」である事は、クラスの生徒達には内緒である。それはヒーローが身近にいることで生徒達に危険が及ばないようにするという配慮と、自身の功績をひけらかしたくてやっているわけではないという考えからである。故に今日も彼は、クラスの児童たちが「エレメント・ティーチャー」を真似たごっこ遊びに励む様を眺めながら、優しい笑顔を浮かべている。

Donning a black suit and firing off chalk-shaped bullets, Kyoichi calls himself, “ETL, Agent of Love,” and his passion is to save all the children at the center of acts of terrorism which plague the galaxy. As “love” itself is oftentimes viewed as an embarrassing, idyllic romanticism given how all secrets become exposed in this day and age, these children conversely paint a far more hellish reality in which they constantly torment, tease, and taunt one another. As the mature adult among them all, Kyoichi runs through enemy bases to rescue as many of these children as he can.
「愛のエージェント・ETL」と自称するキョウイチ。この姿に変身した彼は、テロリズムの渦中にいる子供達を救い出す使命を帯びた、まさに愛の戦士である。恋愛を恥ずかしいものと捉えているがゆえに、秘密がすべて曝け出される状況下で、子供達はお互いを刺激し合い、怒りと悲しみに満ちた地獄絵図を自分達で作り出してしまった。成熟した一人の大人として、子供達を救い出さんとする彼は、チョーク型の弾丸を武器に、黒いスーツを纏って、敵の拠点を駆ける。

Poor at hiding things, Kyoichi actively reveals his thoughts and emotions in a manner he had been developing over the course of many years winning the trust of others. Intense honesty, however, does not always produce the desired results. In fact, being overly frank can lead to hurt feelings and broken hearts. Facing this dilemma in its most brutal form and feeling the task given to him far too great, Kyoichi is left scratching his head over the extreme burden this has placed on him—struggling not to be crushed by the responsibility that accompanies it.
隠し事というのが苦手であるキョウイチは、自らの考えや感情を、進んで他者に曝け出す。それは、彼自身を他者に信頼してもらうために作り上げていった、彼ならではのスタンスである。しかしながら、正直にモノを言いすぎることは、時に良くない結果を生む。ストレートに伝え過ぎると、どうしても他者を傷つけてしまうことがある。そのジレンマの最たる例とも言える事案に直面した彼は、自らに課された重たすぎる課題に、頭を抱える事になるのだった。
不擅长隐瞒的教一,会主动向他人袒露自己的想法和感情。这是他为了让他人信任自己而选择的做法,是他特有的姿态。但是,过于诚实有时会产生不好的结果。过于直接地表达,难免会伤害到他人。当他面对这一困境中最典型的案例时,便会对于自己所面临的过于沉重的课题感到头疼。

Kyoichi Otomo, a Terran from Sendai, Japan, works as an elementary school teacher in Orient City. He was Akashi’s college upper-classmate and has just started work in the education sector. Since he had originally aimed to be a professional baseball player, his athletic abilities and reflexes are off the charts. Though he possesses the leadership skills and a magnanimous heart that makes the children look up to him, he does have a sleazy side to him, having a fondness for younger partners. Rest assured, of course, grade schoolers are far too young to qualify.

5th Anniversary Hero-encyclopedias
Introduction
Hiding his true identity from his students, Element Teacher is a hero whose activities are focused on protecting the town where the children live.
His weapons are modeled after tools commonly seen in elementary education settings, like balls, vaulting boxes, or rather, a large triangle ruler for the blackboard.
As for the reason behind this particular assortment of weapons, he reveals that the scene of his first ever transformation was a classroom he was in during his teaching practicum, laughing as he says, “Well, I had to transform in a real pinch.”
Rather, could his appearance not be seen as the ultimate expression of his determination as an elementary teacher to protect the children? As you might expect from a hero who uses weapons modeled after familiar classroom tools, children at the school where he works can often be seen playing and imitating him.
True Self
As one would expect of a homeroom teacher at a public elementary school, his daily life is extremely regimented. He arrives at school early in the morning to prepare the day’s teaching materials before heading to his classroom.
After spending the day with the children, his evening is spent grading tests and homework and preparing for the next days to come. His everyday life is seemingly hectic, but he states himself, “When I’m surrounded by lots of kids having a great time, it’s so much fun that I don’t even have a moment to feel tired.”
When asked how he spends his days off, he says that since he’s a member of several local community clubs, he often plays sports like baseball or futsal. He also apparently goes to watch and help coach his students’ sports teams. Exactly what you would expect from a graduate of a prestigious sports university.
Additionally, he also tutors a certain young girl who, due to certain circumstances, is receiving her compulsory education through a correspondence course. He confesses that he’s been worrying lately, as the girl is starting to become smarter than he is.
