彼が初めてカイブツと対峙したのは、教育実習で訪れた小学校であった。持ち前の兄貴肌と年下への庇護欲が彼に「生徒たちの住む世界を護りたい」という決意を芽生えさせ、ヒーロー「エレメント・ティーチャー」を誕生させた。小学校の授業で扱うボールや跳び箱、黒板用の三角定規などを模した武器を扱い、「何故悪い事をしてはいけないのか」を生徒たちに示しながら、彼は今日も戦場に立つ。

The first time Kyoichi confronted Kaibutsu was at an elementary school he visited for TA training. His natural older brother instinct and his desire to protect younger children gave him the determination to “protect the world for his students,” and gave birth to the hero “Element Teacher.” On the battlefield, he wields weapons resembling the balls, vaulting boxes, and set squares that he handles in elementary school classes, and shows students “why evil doesn’t pay”.

自身が街を守るヒーロー「エレメント・ティーチャー」である事は、クラスの生徒達には内緒である。それはヒーローが身近にいることで生徒達に危険が及ばないようにするという配慮と、自身の功績をひけらかしたくてやっているわけではないという考えからである。故に今日も彼は、クラスの児童たちが「エレメント・ティーチャー」を真似たごっこ遊びに励む様を眺めながら、優しい笑顔を浮かべている。

His identity as “Element Teacher” is kept secret from his students, as a special consideration to not endanger the children close to him, and because he does not want to show off his achievements. Even so, he watches with a fond smile as his students play “Element Teacher” at recess.

「愛のエージェント・ETL」と自称するキョウイチ。この姿に変身した彼は、テロリズムの渦中にいる子供達を救い出す使命を帯びた、まさに愛の戦士である。恋愛を恥ずかしいものと捉えているがゆえに、秘密がすべて曝け出される状況下で、子供達はお互いを刺激し合い、怒りと悲しみに満ちた地獄絵図を自分達で作り出してしまった。成熟した一人の大人として、子供達を救い出さんとする彼は、チョーク型の弾丸を武器に、黒いスーツを纏って、敵の拠点を駆ける。

Kyoichi describes himself in this new form as “Agent of Love, E.T.L.”.

Transformed into this figure, he is a warrior of love on a mission to rescue children in the midst of terrorism.

Because they perceive romance as embarrassing, the children mutually deride one another in a negative feedback loop and create their own hell full of anger and sadness, with all their secrets exposed.

As a mature adult, he rescues children and runs through enemy strongholds in a black suit, using chalk bullets as a weapon.

隠し事というのが苦手であるキョウイチは、自らの考えや感情を、進んで他者に曝け出す。それは、彼自身を他者に信頼してもらうために作り上げていった、彼ならではのスタンスである。しかしながら、正直にモノを言いすぎることは、時に良くない結果を生む。ストレートに伝え過ぎると、どうしても他者を傷つけてしまうことがある。そのジレンマの最たる例とも言える事案に直面した彼は、自らに課された重たすぎる課題に、頭を抱える事になるのだった。

Kyoichi is not good at keeping secrets, and so whatever feelings he has for the other party, he will advance and lay it bare.

This is his own attitude developed in order to gain the trust of others.

However, saying something honestly sometimes doesn’t bring about a good result.

When we communicate too straightforwardly, there will be times when others get hurt by it.

And so when faced with a case which can be called the best example of this dilemma, he finds himself greatly perplexed.
